Kids: The Funny Things They Can do

Aren't kids just the best? Of course, I don't have kids, but I have lived with five younger siblings, so I think I might know a thing or two. I know that kids can be the best at sometimes, while other times you don't know why they even exists. I have just been inspired to write about some funny things that I have seen kids do, after just being by some funny kids.
Now as I just mentioned, I have five younger siblings. I have seen a lot of funny things done by these kids and there friends over the year that I have lived. Kids like and hate some many different things, but not all kids hate or like the things you think they would...
I just went over to babysit for someone the other day and I came home with a couple funny stories. You see, these kids had to eat dinner before they could do anything that night; they were having spaghetti and meatballs. While I was salivating or the deliciously flesh food, these kids were complaining about their mother's dinner choice and demanded... wait for it... BROCCOLI???
I could not believe it, these kids wanted their veggies for dinner rather than the deluxe meal they had before them. I had to bargain with them, like most babysitters do, but not like most babysitters have to. I promised them that for every five noddles and meatball they ate, I have then give them one piece of broccoli. How ironic does this sound?
Now, I have little sisters, one is nine and the other is almost seven; yeah, the awkward ages. The reason I call those the awkward ages is because this is the time that most little girls start to think that they are "big girls". I can't count how many times I have walked into a room and my little sisters start talking about fashion and celebrities. Of course, their conversations are not quite grown up or mature. Their idea of fashion is taking anything that has flowers or Selena Gomez on it. They talk of celebrities consists mostly of the new songs sung by Justin Bieber. I sometimes try to educate them on the celebrities and fashion that is actually in at the moment, but they always look at me, roll their eyes, and say "whatever". It always gets complicated when your little sisters can't decide if you are cool or just old. They sometimes want to hang out with me just because it is cool to be hanging out with sixteen and seventeen year olds, but I mostly just get "whatever" from them.
The best thing about kids is having stories about them doing embarrassing things that they can never live down. I have so many stories about my younger and older siblings that I will always old against them. But what sucks is when they have stuff on you; like how you fell don in front of the whole congregation in church... but we wont get into that. :D
My favorite story about one of my little siblings is when little brother got brought home by the police.... Now I know what your thinking, but it wasn't like that. My family was working outside in the yard when my little brother, three years old at the time, decided that it would be fun to go get some candy at the gas station across the street. But what did not register in his mind was that the gas station was down the street... behind a cement wall that separated our neighborhood from the road that went onto the freeway. So my brother takes his little bike and starts riding down to the gas station when my family wasn't looking. Luckily for him, a police stopped to the side of the road when he saw him trying to cross to the other side of the road. Yeah, there was a lot of explaining to do that day.

Well anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading this. Keep watching for my weekly blog post, or more then weekly.

Homeschooling: The Truth Behind The Rumors!

I love having a blog! I can say what I want without getting in trouble for it... :D
So, I decided since I have not posted in a long time that I would do something fun. I am going to tell you all about my home school life...
That's right, I'm a nerdy little homeschooler! Now, I know what you're thinking, "This girl must be a freak!" Well, I am. Just get used to it, okay.

The cons of Homeschooling:
The worst part about homeschooling is that I am always the alien of the group. I mean, sometimes people think that because I am homeschooled I speak gibberish or I don't speak at all; I speak through my mind or something like that.

What people always ask me:
I hate it when I get the same questions asked to me by a thousand different people. Here are some of the usual questions: Have you ever been to a real school? Are you like really smart? Do you have any friends? How often do you leave your house?  Do you stay in your P.J's all day? How do you meet people if you are homeschooled? Is your family all musically inclined? How does prom work for you?
Yeah, people just don't understand homeschooling.

The real life of a homeschooler:
Most people think that I can get away with sleeping in till noon being at home all day... Wrong, I have to get up at 7:00 a.m to attend my LDS Seminary class. I do an online school, so I technically do have teachers, they just can't hate me because thee only time they see me is through online chat rooms. I do get grades and I do learn, it's not all play and no work. I actually attend part time online collage classes through Weber State University too, so I do work a lot for my grades. I do have friends, most of them I meet through church and home school groups. I did attend my local school for a year and I did not like it; I learned nothing. I am not saying that public school is bad, but people learn in many different ways and I don't learn well in class rooms.

Funny stories:
When I was in my Seminary class I had this one teacher who kept asking me questions about homeschooling. He told me that he thought it was great but he could not understand how we socialize. He said that he would homeschool with his kids if their was more of a social aspect to it. Me, being very sarcastic, just couldn't resisted this window of opportunity. "Yeah," I said, "it has definitively been a challenge being socially awkward my entire life. But I amaze myself everyday at how well I can speak." I started to stutter at this point and kept looking away as if I was having a hard time at keeping eye contact, "I... I always have a hard time... T..T..Time talking to people, and S..S.. Sometimes I cant look... A..At them..."
He never made another negative comment about homeschoolers in that class again. :D

Messing with the new homeschoolers:
I love it when my mom brings new homeschooling moms to me so that they can learn more about high school home school. I just smile at them and say, "Homeschooling is a great thing for teenager, I am totally focus on my school work now that I have totally separated myself from society." They always look at my mom with concern when I say this for some reasons. "She is just kidding," my mom will say. The moms will then look back to me with a smile. "Well," I continue, "I guess it is not all that bad. The pointing and staring stops after awhile, suicidal thoughts go down after a year, and my resentment toward my parents is almost gone now."
Yeah, people should really get to know me and my humor before they ask me serious questions like that. :D

I am actually very grateful to be homeschooled because I hardly have to worry about getting shot in school (R.I.P to all those dear children and teachers who died this last week). My parents don't have to worry about me getting involved with the wrong crowd, and I am happy. I think that me being homeschooled has helped me in more ways than I can count. It has helped my to be the person I am today. :D

My Voice Sings!

It seems that I am going to sing a song!
I decided that I wanted to share one of my most favorite songs with whoever reads my blog. So I made a video of me sing Payphone By Maroon 5. Now, I understand that this song has a few naughty words and so forth... So I changed up the song to fit my standers of music. Please leave feed back if you liked it, please don't comment if you didn't like it.
Hope you enjoy it! :D

What Makes You Beautiful!

Once I heard this song on the radio I fell in love with it!
It has such a great message, and I can't stop listening to it!
This is for anyone who doesn't know that they are beautiful!

Happy Hunger Games!

Am I the only person who has not seen the Hunger Games yet?
Not seeing this movie is driving me insane! I would like to see it now, but like most people... I am broke! :)
I loved the Hunger Games books. They were totally awesome! Luckily for me I got a hold of these books about a year before I knew they were making a movie, so I did not have to wait my turn at the library along with ten million other people!
I heard that this movie stays faithful to the books, so that makes me pretty excited... Well that and the fact that Josh Hutcherson played Peeta! I don't know about anyone else, but I was team Peeta all the way! :D
Well I hope to see this totally awesome movie soon, and maybe there are other people reading this who feel the same way.
Happy Hunger Games, everyone, and may the odds be ever in your favor!
